Shiri Spear

Shiri joined the 22News Storm Team in 2007 as the weekend morning meteorologist.  She also reports on environmental stories for the 22News Green Team.

Shiri has a Master’s Degree in Atmospheric Sciences from The University of Massachusetts Lowell.  Before becoming a meteorologist, she was a teacher.

Shiri taught preschool while earning her Bachelor’s Degree and teaching certification in Mathematics Education.  She loves spending time in the classroom with local children educating them about the "wonders of weather."

Shiri is a New Hampshire native.  She spent time at McGill University in Montreal, Coastal Carolina Community College in North Carolina, and Rivier College in New Hampshire.

She attributes much of her traveling to her marriage to her high school sweetheart and U.S. Marine, Matthew.  They have settled in Springfield since Matt completed his time in the USMC.  Together, they have two daughters, Gabrielle and Mia, who love to chase their exhausted husky.
