INDIANAPOLIS - I know it just sounds CRAZY, but yes, this is about cupcakes in jars! Actual cupcakes inside jars! Please, hold your joyful screaming to a minimum.

SO, how do you make this miracle of baking happen? Really, it is so so easy.

Cupcake in a jar!

I love jars, and have dabbled in the art of pickling and canning. I love drinking a cold co-cola out of a Ball canning jar and I’ve repurposed jars as light fixtures, flower vases and various other DIY projects.

Which is why when I saw cupcakes in a jar I was overjoyed!

You can do cupcakes in jars several ways. You can bake the ingredients first, and then place them delicately inside jars with any array of frostings, glazes or jams.

Where to buy canning jars

Or, you can straight up bake them in the jar.

Canning jelly jars can be used for baking it seems. Just mix up your batter and fill jars half full. Bake at 325 degrees for about 45 minutes and wah-lah! Cupcakes baked in a jar.

Slice off the top and add the icing, sprinkles or other decorations and you’ve got a creative and cute way to share or serve cupcakes.
