PORTLAND, Ore. (CNN/BOB MARTIN) - A bald eagle was rescued on the side of an Oregon highway this week.

Emergency crews helped the injured bird. The male bald eagle's leg was broken when he was hit by a car.

He has since been checked out by a vet.

They say the eagle is suffering from partial paralysis but stable.
