GLENDALE, Calif. (AP) — Meatball the bear is now far from Glendale and his favorite food.

People in the Southern California community say the black bear has a fondness for meatballs.

Game wardens rousted Meatball from a nap in a tree over the weekend and got him with tranquilizer darts.

Officials say he's the same bear that was captured at a Glendale apartment complex in April and driven to the Angeles National Forest. He was spotted in the suburb again just weeks later. Now, officials of the California Department Fish and Game say the bear will be relocated deeper into the wild.

The Los Angeles Times reports the bear even inspired the creation of a Twitter account, @theglendalebear.
