Priest sprays holy water with toy gun

SALTILLO, Mexico (NBC/RTV) - A priest in northern Mexico is using water guns to spray churchgoers with holy water.

Father Humberto Alvarez in known for being over-the-top; he even dresses in robes with images of comic-book superheroes such as Superman and Batman. He says he does it to entertain local children during mass.

Alvarez said that his unorthodox methods bring smiles to children's faces in a town that has been hit hard by organized crime and drug-related violence.

Alvarez only uses the superhero robes and water gun when hosting children's mass. He switches back to his normal attire for mass with adults.
