Schoolchildren find wandering lion cub

ROSTOV, Russia (NBC/RTV) - School children in Russia recently found a lion cub walking around their village located the country's south.

The excited group thought it was a good idea to show off the lion to their classmates and teachers, and that's when police got involved.

So far, officials said they believe that the animal might have escaped from a traveling zoo.

Despite the rather bizarre incident the cub is in good condition.

It is now staying at a local zoo in quarantine.
