LOS ANGELES (AP) — If "American Idol" finally wins the Emmy Sunday for best reality-competition program, Simon Cowell will take the credit.
He says "if it does win this year, it's for all the years" he and Paula Abdul were on. So he says he'll "claim the victory" and he says he'll "replicate the Emmy" and put his name on it.
"American Idol" has been up for the Emmy for reality-competition program nine times. That's once for every year it's been eligible.
Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul have moved on to "The X Factor," which debuts a week from Wednesday on Fox.
