ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — Casey Anthony's parents said Thursday they're concerned that a purported video diary of their daughter circulating online could put her in harm's way.
George and Cindy Anthony said in a statement provided by their attorney that they hope their daughter is safe.
Casey Anthony is serving a year of probation at an undisclosed location in Florida on a check fraud charge. The 25-year-old was acquitted last July of killing her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.
The origin of the four-minute video is unclear but the blonde, bobbed and bespectacled woman in it describes it as her "first video diary" recorded in October 2011. She promised in the clip that there will be other video logs.
"I'm extremely excited that I will be able to Skype and keep a video log, take some pictures and finally have something that I can call mine," she said. "It has been a long time since I've been able to call something mine."
She described as "surreal" the changes in her life since the acquittal. She also said things are starting to look up for her and that a dog is keeping her company.
"Things can only get better," she said.
