CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Name: Cooper
Age: 2 years
Sex: Neutered Male
Color: Black and Tan
Date of Surrender: 4/2013
Reason for Surrender and Description:
Like all hound dogs I love to follow my nose, but more often than not, I tend to follow my heart first. I love all kinds of people and am most happy when I'm leaning up against someone while they rub my ears.
I was actually a working service dog before I came to Dakin. My buddy was a war veteran who suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and I was his devoted helper. Unfortunately, my best friend has gotten ill and is no longer able to care for me.
I'm friendly meeting other dogs but can be a bit boisterous when greeting. No cats please, I do like to chase them. I'm already house trained and would probably be fine in a home with older kids around 7 and up. I would need to meet the whole family to be sure we are all a good match.
