CHICOPEE, Mass. (Mass Appeal) - The kids are back to school and they're doing just fine, but how are you? Clinical Psychologist Dr. Tim Hope shared some tips for transitioning parents with kids in school.
Tips for Parents
Think about yourself. Consider the schedule. What are your priorities? How can you ensure that you get some time to recharge yourself, learn a new skill, try out a hobby, exercise.
Nurture your social network. Reconnect with family and friends. This is difficult to do over the summer, with so many people traveling. Fall activities are good times to get back in touch with your social network. They will support you as you support them!
Take time for your loved one. If you have a partner, take time to reconnect with them, too. Get rest and enjoy the rhythm of fall--the Holidays are just around the corner!
