SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (Mass Appeal) - It's a family tradition that adults and children look forward to year after year, Bright Nights is brighter than ever with more entertainment than ever before.
Judy Matt, President of the Spirit of Springfield, shared all the details for this year's festivities!
Bright Nights at Forest Park, New England's brightest night lights, has something for everyone including more than 650,000 lights on a three-mile path through Springfield's historic Forest Park. Every visitor and fan has their favorite display but the experience can be further enhanced when the visitor steps out of the car.
The Bright Nights Gift Stop has become one of the most popular destinations. Visitors can stroll through Santa's Magical Forest where elves sing and trees dance. The short path leads to a cozy cottage where Santa can be found greeting visitors and posing for photographs. There are souvenirs and mementos for sale. At the concession stand, there are snacks, both hot and cold, and on the weekends, tickets for a horse-drawn wagon or carriage ride.
The horse-drawn wagon rides are available Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays with the exception of December 16. Tours aboard the horse-drawn carriage are offered Fridays and Saturdays. Both depart from the Gift Stop and take visitors through Seuss Land, Garden of Peace and Jurassic World. The wagon can accommodate as many as 20 passengers and the wagon has room for four adults. The additional price for the rides is $7 for adults on the wagon and $5 for children, or it can be reserved Fridays and Sundays for $125. Carriage rides are $45 with reservations accepted for Fridays.
