SOUTHWICK, Mass. (Mass Appeal) - Haunting you on Route 202.... a spooky hayride with a graveyard and a spooky dollhouse. Be sure to make this one of your Halloween events this season.
Four Agawam high school students, and Janice LaFrance, Owner of Southwick Acres Campground, describe the experience.
Start off with a scary graveyard. Of course, there is the chain saws. There is a demented doll house where we have pretty strange looking characters.
The entire ride is between 20-24 minutes long. No hay is involved, don't want to deal with too much in the allergy department and things like that.
I'm the narrator, I actually ride on the ride with the riders. I pretty much, give a hint before what happens, and then I sit there. I usually interact with them. Then let them get scared on their own and the ride continues on. That goes on for each set station that we do.
All the monies raised from this event go to Agawam High School's Key Club. With the money we do a bunch of different stuff. We help out with elementary schools. We help out in the community. Like, we are doing Hat Day to raise money for children cancer funds. Then, we are doing the hay ride, we are volunteering our time to help out there, and they have people to scare everybody.
At the end of the school year, we are going to figure out what charity that we want to donate it to within the town. We just want to give back to what we did to help the town and everything.
