CHICOPEE, Mass. (Mass Appeal) - Mother's Day is this weekend and what better way to celebrate mom than taking her out to brunch? But before you make your reservations you'll want to make sure you know all the proper brunch etiquette.
Karen Thomas, a Certified Etiquette Expert with CTetiquette.com, showed us how you can impress Mom this Mother's Day!
Brunch Etiquette Tips
Combination of Breakfast & Lunch served and eaten anytime between 10AM and 2PM
Finger Foods vs Utensil Foods
Finger Foods: Crispy Bacon, Asparagus, Muffins, Breads, Mini Sandwiches, Strawberries, Bananas
Utensil Foods: Chewy Bacon, Meats, Eggs, Pancakes, Salads, Berries (they can stain!)
Before Noon: Mimosas and Bloody Marys
After Noon: Wine
Home: Casual including jeans acceptable
Venue/Restaurant: Casual khakis and polo shirts for men, casual dresses or capris for women
As is customary to be a self serve venue, 10% is fine, however 15 - 20% is good for an extra attentive wait staff or server.
Remember your Guest of Honor is MOM so always honor and respect her and show her the manners she raised you with!
