CHICOPEE, Mass. (Mass Appeal) - If you're having trouble keeping your permed hair fresh and flawless in between salon appointments we've got professional tips to maintain your style. Tammy Shepard, owner of Gianna Salon in Springfield, shared some advice for keeping up your perm!
Tips for keeping up your perm:
Perms are a very low maintenance.
Start off using shampoo and conditioners that are designed for chemically treated hair, but don't wash hair every day, as the natural oils in your hair will help keep your hair soft.
You should style your hair with a wide tooth comb or use a pick.
Apply gels or mousses as you normally would and either blow dry your hair with a diffuser or let air dry.
For proper curl maintenance and desired outcome.
Haircuts should be kept to 4-6 week schedule.
