CHICOPEE, Mass - Hamburgers are a grilling favorite! Tanya Hart from Root Wellness and Nutrition came by the studio to give us a new, and a bit healthier, spin on this classic dish.
Grilled Grassfed Bacon Burgers with Grilled Salad and Plantains
1lb ground grassfed beef
4 strips bacon, just cooked and crumbled
Separate burgers into 4 sections
Mix 1 strip crumbled bacon into meat
Form patties and sprinkle with fresh ground pepper
Grill about 4 mins per side on medium high heat for medium rare
4 Belgian Endives
Salt & pepper to taste
Grill over moderate-to-low heat, turning once or twice, until soft and browned. Finish cut-side up and sprinkle with grated Parmesan.
2 Plantains, halved
Brush melted butter on cut side of plantain and grill cut side down for 15 mins.
Flip cut side up and brush with melted butter again and sprinkle with brown sugar, cook another 15 mins.
Serve plantain in skin.
