AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) - An overnight power outage has forced Agawam Junior High School to close and left some residents of Springfield's Forest Park neighborhood in the dark.
Western Mass. Electric Company Spokesman Al Lara told 22News a cable failure is to blame for the outage.
Almost 650 WMECO customers in Springfield and two in Agawam lost their electricity shortly after 4 A.M.
By 11:15 A.M., there were still more than 400 customers in Springfield and two in Agawam still without power, but by noon, all but one Springfield customer was without power. The two Agawam customers remained in the dark.
