WINDSOR, Conn. (WWLP-WTNH) - A driver is in critical condition at a Connecticut hospital, after police say that his car crashed through an overpass wall and down to the Interstate 91 median late Tuesday morning.
State Police told our Connecticut sister station, WTNH-TV , that the driver had exited I-91 from HOV lane Exit 37 in Windsor, but did not stop at the end of the ramp and struck a concrete overpass. The car caught fire as it fell 25 feet down to the median of I-91.
The driver is listed in critical condition at this time.
The HOV lanes of I-91 were closed in the area following the crash.
