HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - Hartford police have charged a city employee with drunken driving after a nighttime crash involving her city vehicle.
Officers charged 53-year-old Public Works Department employee Rhonda Moniz-Carroll of Hartford with DUI and failure to travel in the proper lane Saturday night.
Police say Moniz-Carroll's city SUV veered into oncoming traffic and struck a car on Prospect Avenue near Farmington Avenue at about 9:30 p.m.
Officers say a woman driving the other car was treated at a hospital for a concussion and ankle injury. Police say Moniz-Carroll refused medical treatment.
Moniz-Carroll couldn't be reached for comment Sunday. A phone listing for her was disconnected. It's not clear if she has a lawyer.
City officials have been reviewing the use of city vehicles in response to incidents involving other workers.
