NEW CANAAN, Conn. (WTNH) - A New Canaan bank employee was arrested Friday for allegedly embezzling more than $100,000 from two accounts, police said.
According to police, Chase Bank Security contacted them in August to report possible fraudulent activity involving three bank accounts.
Police said an investigation into New Canaan branch bank employee Stephen DeCresenzo's activity revealed that he embezzled $172,000 from two accounts and used a third account to filter the money.
Both victims are New Canaan residents.
DeCresenzo, 36, of 9 Apple Tree Terrace, West Haven, was charged with two counts of first-degree larceny.
He is being held on a $300,000 bond.
