EAST WINDSOR, Conn. (WWLP) - Nearly 30 young soccer players were able to safely get off the field at a popular sports dome in northern Connecticut, before a severe storm brought the structure down.
Kathy Russuto, manager of SportsWorld in East Windsor told 22News that there were 29 children and five counselors inside the dome when the storms came through early Monday afternoon.
Russuto said that they had evacuated the children out of the dome and into the building. She said that she was the last one out of the dome, and saw it starting to give way when she left.
No one was hurt, but debris from the dome ended up on nearby Interstate 91; blocking part of the southbound side of the highway.
