"Nothing of note" found at kidnapping suspect's Westfield apartment, DA says

WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Police searched Steward Weldon's other residence in Westfield Wednesday.

According to Hampden District Attorney Spokesperson James Leydon, authorities continued the ongoing investigation at Page Boulevard in Springfield and brought a police dog to search the residence at 112 Main Street.

Leydon also said as of Wednesday crews are finished using the ground penetrating radar at 1333 Page Boulevard.

He confirmed for 22News that no additional remains were found at the Springfield home and that nothing of note was discovered during the police search of Weldon's Westfield apartment.

Although Leydon said "nothing of note" was found there, neighbors said they were shaken to know Weldon, who has a violent history with police, had been living there.

"I saw the house," said Judy of Westfield. "I mean that's directly outside of my driveway, and it scared me. It scared me really bad."

The 22News I-Team discovered Weldon has been arrested more than a dozen times in Springfield, Westfield, and New Jersey.

Weldon is being held on two $1 million bails on unrelated kidnapping and assault charges.

The 40-year-old Springfield resident has not been charged in connection with the three bodies found at his home at Page Blvd.
