SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A state police traffic stop in Springfield's North End led to an arrest for a stolen pickup truck early Wednesday morning.
According to a State Police news release sent to 22News, Rodrigo Diaz, 27, of Springfield, is facing several charges, including larceny of a motor vehicle, and receiving stolen property.
According to state police, a patrolling trooper pulled Diaz over on Lowell Street for a traffic violation around 12:30 A.M. The trooper ran the license plate, and found that it had been stolen from another vehicle.
The trooper saw that the truck Diaz was driving, a green Ford F-150, had a broken rear window and damaged ignition switch. A check of the truck's VIN number revealed it was stolen.
Diaz is also being charged with use of a motor vehicle without authority, operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license as a habitual traffic offender, attaching plates, marked lanes violation, and no front plate violation.
