Woman sentenced to 2 1/2 years in jail for hitting pedestrian with her car

Cathy Sabol pleaded guilty to OUI causing serious bodily injury

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – A woman has been sentenced to two and a half years in jail for causing a crash that severely injured a pedestrian in Feeding Hills more than two years ago.

Jim Leydon, spokesperson for the Hampden County District Attorney, told 22News that 43 year-old Cathy Sabol of Feeding Hills pleaded guilty to a charge of operating under the influence causing serious bodily injury. She has been sentenced to serve 30 months at the Western Massachusetts Regional Women's Correctional Center in Chicopee.

On April 18, 2014, 61 year-old Paul Bachini, had been walking with his wife on South West Street when he was struck by Sabol's car. He did survive, but had been listed in critical condition at the hospital for days.
