NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - A 22News I-Team follow-up.
The sudden closure of a car dealership left lots of people without the proper paperwork and in some cases, out a lot of money.
Dana Goodfield owns the property of Northampton Motor Classics, he does not own the store.
He says says the owner of Northampton Motor Classics, Andrew Feuerstein, owes him a lot of money.
He says it got to the point where he decided to change the locks on the building to get Feuerstein out for good.
Goodfield told the 22News I-Team if he knew back then what he knows now, he would've never sold the store to Feuerstein.
"It was very disturbing and certainly saddening because over the years we had a great customer base and great employees and when I sold the business I really thought I was doing the right thing for everybody and it certainly has not turned out that way," Goodfield said.
The 22News I-Team has tried calling the owner and manager of the store but they have not returned our calls.
Goodfield says he doesn't think he'll ever get his money back and he thinks the customers who need their titles or money have an uphill battle.
One thing he is sure about: he's getting the property cleaned up and hopes to have a new tenant in soon in an effort to recoup his losses.
