SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The American Cancer Society wants you to help them determine more causes of cancer.
The organization needs volunteers from the Springfield-area to participate in a cancer prevention study. The survey is open to men and women between the ages of 30 and 65 who have never had cancer.
Janet McGrail, the Vice President of Health Initiatives for the American Cancer Society, says that it doesn't take a lot of effort, but you could really make a difference in cancer prevention.
"If you could give an hour of your time to help future generations, your children and your grandchildren never have the words that you never have cancer, wouldn't you?" McGrail said.
Past studies of this nature connected smoking and obesity with cancer. The surveys will begin in June, but you can register now online at the American Cancer Society's website: cancer.org .
