CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - The man accused of assaulting a Chicopee police officer has been released on bail.
Jay DiRico of Chicopee was being held until an electronic monitoring device was made available to him.
Kevin Brown, the Assistant Superintendent of the Franklin County Jail, told 22News he made bail earlier this week.
DiRico also has to wear an electronic monitoring device and a sobrietor, which tests his blood alcohol level.
Prosecutors say DiRico attacked Chicopee police officer Jeffrey Couture.
He's facing charges including assault with the intent to murder and will be back in court May 18th.
