CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - The mother of Chicopee murder victim Amanda Plasse spoke to 22News ahead of Tuesday's City Council vote.
22News talked to her about the investigation into her daughter's murder.
Michelle Mathieson's daughter, Amanda Plasse was murdered in Chicopee two years ago. Mathieson told 22News she knew nothing about the murder victim photos taken by police until this year.
She also said she didn't ask City Councilors to call for an investigation and says she doesn't want her daughter's death used as a campaign issue.
Last week, Chicopee City Councilors announced plans to vote Tuesday night to decide whether they'll ask Attorney General Martha Coakley to investigate Mayor Michael Bissonnette and the two police officers who took photos of Plasse's body and sent them out to other police officers.
Mathieson said she just wants her daughter's murder solved.
"Think about it if it were your daughter, wouldn't you want some answers and some resolution? The focus here should be on who murdered Amanda and not pointing fingers as to who said what and who did what. The focus of this needs to be on who murdered my daughter. It's been two years and almost two months later and we still have no answers as to who murdered my daughter that's where the focus needs to be right now," Mathieson said.
