CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Chicopee Mayor Michael Bissonnette says an investigation into the police department is nearly complete.
In June, Mayor Michael Bissonnette announced he hired a private investigator after claims that police officers took pictures of murder victim, Amanda Plasse's lifeless body.
The Mayor says the investigation should be complete in about a month.
Plasse was found stabbed to death in her apartment in August 2011. Pictures were allegedly taken at the home, leaked and shown to spectators at a football game.
Bissonnette says an investigation into the matter has been completed and now handed over to former Assistant Hampden County District Attorney Marybeth Ogulewicz for her final review.
"There are several issues and particular incidents that we're looking at. The Plasse murder photographs are just one of those but we want to make sure that there are no problems going forward with any of the officers in that particular incident we are also looking at a couple other incidents I would label as serious," Bissonnette.
Bissonnette says he expects Ogulewicz will complete her part of this in the next month, that's when they'll determine if any disciplinary action is necessary.
