IRAQ (AP) - Residents in Baghdad Sunday were assessing damage after a bomb blast near a mosque late Saturday killed at least 16 people and injured 31.
The explosion was near the gate of a mosque in a largely Sunni area.
A wave of increasing daily violence has spread across Iraq since the start of the holy month of Ramadan.
The country is suffering its worst eruption of violence in years. More than 26-hundred people have been killed since the start of April.
