NORTH ADAMS, Mass. (WWLP) - A North Adams man has been charged with murder in connection with the death of an elderly woman, whose lifeless body was found in her home Tuesday.
According to Berkshire DA David Capeless, investigators arrested 41-year-old David A. Delratez Friday evening. Delratez was charged with one count of murder and one count of larceny of a motor vehicle.
Delratez is being held without bail at the Berkshire County House of Correction, said Capeless. He was arrested Thursday afternoon in Bennington, Vermont on a Violation of Probation warrant.
After being arraigned as a Fugitive from Justice in Bennington and Delratez voluntarily agreed to return to Massachusetts.
When Delratez was brought back to Mass., he was arrested and formally charged with the murder of 84-year-old Ellen Depaoli, whose body was found inside her 409 Walker Street home Tuesday evening.
Delratez will be arraigned in Northern Berkshire District Court, in North Adams, on Monday morning.
