PITTSFIELD, Mass. (AP) - A Pittsfield man charged with making a bomb threat and starting at a fire at the resort where he worked as a security guard is close to a plea deal.
Authorities say 24-year-old Miles Arnspiger passed a note to police in May 2012 that contained a bomb threat targeting Canyon Ranch in Lenox. Police say Arnspiger wrote the note.
About three months later, he allegedly set a small fire in a shed on resort property.
No one was injured in either incident.
The Berkshire Eagle reports that Arnspiger is scheduled to go to trial next month, but his attorney and prosecutors say they are working on a resolution in the case before it starts.
Arnspiger has pleaded not guilty to felony burning a building and making a bomb threat.
