PITTSFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A dive team has recovered the body of a swimmer who was swept into a drain in the Housatonic River Tuesday.
Pittsfield Fire Chief Robert Czerwinski told 22News the body of the unidentified man was freed by two divers just before four o'clock Wednesday afternoon.
Police had said the man got caught in very strong current and lodged in a flood control drain beneath the dam.
Police said this is not a sanctioned swimming area.
