GREAT BARRINGTON, Mass. (WWLP) - A young child is lucky to be okay Saturday after falling about 30 feet from a ski lift at Ski Butternut in Great Barrington.
It happened just before 3:30 Saturday afternoon.
According to Matthew Sawyer, the Director of Marketing for Ski Butternut, the child was sitting on a triple seat ski lift with his brother when he fell.
Sawyer said the kids didn't have the safety bar on the lift pulled down to secure them into the seat.
He said that Ski Butternut staff load passengers into the lifts, but the passengers are responsible for securing their own safety bar.
The child was taken to Baystate Medical Center as a precaution, but is expected to be okay.
