HEBRON, N.Y. (AP) - A 43-year-old western Massachusetts woman is dead and five people were injured in a three-car chain-reaction crash in upstate New York.
State police say 44-year-old Ora Roaix of Granville, New York was driving south on Route 22 in Hebron shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday, when she crossed into the northbound lane and struck another vehicle. The other driver, 43-year-old Lisa Martin of North Adams, Mass., was pronounced dead at the scene. Roaix was flown to Albany Medical Center.
A third vehicle came upon the scene and couldn't stop in time, hitting Roaix's car. The 87-year-old driver of that car was treated at the scene and her passenger was taken to Glens Falls Hospital.
A pedestrian, 20-year-old Logan Hall of Granville, was also taken to the hospital after one of the cars hit him.
Hebron is located east of Glens Falls, on the Vermont state line.
