PITTSFIELD, Mass. (AP) - Police say a Pittsfield woman has died after getting out of a moving car during an argument with her husband and striking her head.
Her husband was arrested for allegedly driving drunk and leaving the scene of an accident.
Police tell The Berkshire Eagle 42-year-old Christine Benlien was a passenger in the car driven by her husband when she got out of the vehicle at about 1 a.m. on Sunday.
Police say her husband, 45-year-old James Benlien, stopped briefly so the couple's 21-year-old daughter could get out and check on her mother. Authorities say James Benlien left the scene and drove home alone.
Police did not say how fast the car was moving.
James Benlien was held on $50,000 and is scheduled to be arraigned Monday.
