SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Cathedral High School is mourning the loss of a 17-year oldstudent who was stabbed to death at a birthday party over theweekend.
Conor Reynolds was a senior at Cathedral High School and a starsoccer player.
He was stabbed to death on Saturday night during a birthdayparty at the Blue Fusion Bar & Grill on St. James Avenue inSpringfield.
According to Sgt. John Delaney, Conor was one of two victims whowere stabbed that night. Conor was stabbed in the neck, the otherstudent was stabbed in the arm.
When police arrived they found the two victims in the parkinglot. Bystanders and friends were trying to help the boys, but Conorwas bleeding heavily. He was taken to Baystate Medical Center wherehe died.
Sgt. Delaney said the birthday party at the bar swelled to over250 kids and that some of the kids arrived at the party drunk. Thebar does not have a liquor license, so alcohol was not served atthe bar.
Sgt. Delaney said the suspect who stabbed both teens ran fromthe club. Police are now looking for a black male between 16 and 20years old and about 5’ 7”. If you have any information,you are asked to call police.
Mark Dupont, of the Springfield Roman Catholic Diocese told22News that there will be grief counseling at Cathedral High Schoolon Monday for students. The Diocese released this statement:

Bishop extends his sincere condolences and prayers toConor’s beloved family and friends, as well as to thefaculty, staff and student body at Cathedral High School.
