DEERFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Deerfield is celebrating the town's art history.
Several pieces made by women at the end of the 19th century are on display at the memorial hall museum.
Timothy Neumann from the Pocumtuck Valley Memorial Association told 22News, "This was a group of women in a period where their options were limited but these very talented women organized themselves to produce needlework and artwork and one was even a blacksmith, which is extremely unusual."
Skilled hands and high ideals: the arts and crafts movement in Deerfield is a permanent exhibit.
There is also a book and website to add to the experience.
