GREENFIELD, Mass (WWLP) - It was moving day for the Greenfield Health Department and Building Inspections Office Monday from Town Hall to Sanderson Street.
The building at 20 Sanderson Street is being leased to the town by the State and offers more room to the departments with no extra cost. The move will also allow the Accounting Department back into Town Hall from Davis Street by May 16th.
From Sanderson Street the Health Department will have the offices of the Director of Health, Health Inspector, Public Health Nurse, and an administrative clerk. The Building Inspections Office will also now be able to have direct access to their records when citizens stop in to pick up permits.
Greenfield Development and Enforcement Coordinator Vicki Baker said, "It's just going to make it more convenient for us to have everything together. The Building Department all of our files are going to be here that we need to access and the archives."
Greenfield's new Animal Control officer, formerly located at the Police Department will also be found at this building. This new post comes with the new state law requiring all Commonwealth communities to have an Animal Control Officer.
