WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The family members of one of the western Massachusetts natives killed on 9/11 is keeping his memory alive.
Leila Murphy, the daughter of Brian Murphy, read her father’s name during the annual September 11 remembrance ceremony at the memorial at Ground Zero in New York. Leila was not even four years old back in 2001, when her father’s life was one of the thousands taken in the worst terrorist attacks on U.S. soil.
Brian’s sister Ann Murphy spoke live with 22News on Wednesday. Play the video to hear how the Murphy family keeps Brian’s memory alive.
The Murphy family will be attending Westfield’s 9/11 remembrance ceremony, which will be held Wednesday night at the Sons of Erin. Other ceremonies Wednesday evening will be held in Amherst, Palmer, and East Longmeadow.
