WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - In response to Hard Rock's Vote "Yes" campaign, some West Springfield residents are launching an anti-casino campaign on Tuesday.
A news conference will be held Tuesday morning but Monday night, 22News spoke with Nathan Bech about why he wanted to start the Vote "No" initiative.
Bech told 22News his biggest concern with the possibility of having a casino on the "Big E" Fairgrounds is increasing crime rates.
"Because of addiction, because of crime, because of traffic, because it's going to hurt local businesses, because it's going to reduce our property values. These are all reasons to keep a casino as far away from our town as possible," said Bech.
The casino referendum will be held on September 10th.
