SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A Springfield organization that helps people cope with their behavior problems celebrated a milestone Saturday.
Dozens of people helped the Behavioral Health Network reach its 75th anniversary with a fundraising walk and run at Forest Park. These volunteers raised money that will help the agency's newest program.
“The Village is a residential home for African-American women with their children,” said Kim Monson. “And the whole idea, they have a substance abuse disorder, so we provide an environment for them and their children.”
The Village program also helps young pregnant women overcome their drug and alcohol problems.
