PALMER, Mass. (WWLP) - There continues to be a shortage of used cars, which according to dealers, is driving up the cost.
Superstorm Sandy destroyed hundreds of thousands of used cars along the East Coast, forming part of the reason for the present shortage in vehicles.
Jack Mastroianni of Mastroianni Auto Sales in Palmer told 22News that more people are also holding onto their cars longer.
"Usually in October, November, December, prices start to trail off because of the season, but this year they haven't. It almost seems they've been going up a little bit," Mastroianni said.
Mastroianni says that it is not impacting his business, but some dealers are reporting they are having a hard time finding used cars to sell.
