HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - The Holyoke and South Hadley fire departments were called to the Connecticut River for a boat fire Thursday morning.
The boat caught fire near the power plant on the Holyoke side of the river. The call came in around 7:00 Thursday morning.
Holyoke Police Department dispatcher Scott Burns told 22News that all the people on board the boat were safe. When the fire started, they jumped into the water and swam to shore.
It's still unclear why the fire started.
Rescue crews were launched from Brunelle's Marina in South Hadley.
