SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - As the voting process begins, many people say Boston Cardinal Sean O'Malley may be one of the leading candidates to become the next Pope.
O'Malley is in Rome right now preparing for the Enclave.
And although O'Malley himself has downplayed any speculation, experts say he may be a popular choice because of how he handled the clergy sex abuse case in Boston.
Western Massachusetts Catholics told 22News, they think O'Malley has a good chance to become Pope.
Charlie Alvanos says, "Cardinal O'Malley is very omniscient. He has a lot of social grace, and I think he'd be a great unifying force in the faith. "
Voting begins Tuesday. There is no ballot. Cardinal's vote in secret until one person receives a majority.
