WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Officer Torres' brothers in blue lined up to pay their respects inside the funeral home before assembling outside to prepare for the motorcade down Broad Street.
Westfield Police Captain Hipolito Nunez spoke to 22News about the mood at Firtion Adams Funeral Home Tuesday morning. Captain Nunez said it's a somber atmosphere as officers reflect on the life and legacy of the man they loved.
"Jose had so many great qualities: his humor, his sense of pride, his family. I just remember everything and the memories come with stories that remind you of who he was. That's what they're remembering," said Capt. Nunez.
After paying their respects officers loaded up into buses for the motorcade procession. The community have gathered on Broad Street.
The motorcade will pause three times: once in front of the Westfield Police Department , once in front of the Westfield Fire Department , and once in front of City Hall .
