SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - The Council of Churches of western Massachusetts says that they oppose a casino.
After the MGM host community agreement was approved, the Council of Church group told 22News that they'll be gearing up for a large anti-casino campaign.
The group plans to hand out flyers and rally the church to educate people about the potential problems that come along with gambling.
"Obviously we don't support casinos," said Archbishop Timothy Paul. "Not just for the moral aspect, but for the social ills. Especially for an urban casino, which is really our big, big issue right now."
