SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - It was another scorcher across western Massachusetts on Tuesday as temperatures made it over the 90 degree mark for the second day in a row.
And if the heat wasn't bad enough there was also the oppressive humidity to deal with too.
It's tough enough just getting around when it's this hot and humid but for people whose jobs force them to be outside it can be dangerous.
The people who have to work out in these conditions take precautions to help them deal with the heat and humidity.
"And it's very hot today. I conserve my energy, I pace myself. I drink a lot of fluids and I sit down and rest, go inside the building and go inside the air-conditioning when I feel fatigued but I drink a lot of water," said Sally Ampelakis, who is a hot dog vendor in Springfield.
"A little tiring, you got to keep hydrated, keep in the shade if you possibly can, that's the key," said Drew Demay of Fountain Blue.
But for those who don't have to work out in the heat and humidity there are some fun ways to stay cool outside.
The water park at Forest Park was a popular spot for some kids to cool off at.
"We were playing in the water, playing in the water and then we came right here sat in the shade and I got to rest my arm," said Bradford Devillier.
Many did seek cover from the hot summer sun in the shade, even the Canada Geese.
The shade was a good place to be and there was a bit of a breeze that provided just a little relief.
