SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A group of bicyclists from Israel are riding across the U.S. to raise awareness and money for cancer research.
On Wednesday night, they made a stop in Springfield. The group's leader told 22News he started the effort after he father died from cancer. It has become his way of coping with his grief while helping spare others from the same loss.
"We all have difficulties in our lives and things that life throws at us, and real greatness is to rise from these situations and try to make the best of it," said Tom Peled of Bike for the Fight.
This leg of the ride began in Toronto last week and on Thursday they will continue to Boston and eventually Washington D.C.
