SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Even though it's getting cooler out, mosquitoes are still out there and that means the risk for EEE and West Nile continues.
The number of cases in the state continue to grow, a sixth human case of EEE was announced Friday; a woman in her sixties in Amesbury.
But some say they're still not concerned.
"I don't think it's anything to worry about," said Jim Farioli of Springfield. "It's getting colder and pretty soon we'll have our first frost and that will be it and we won't have to worry anymore."
People should continue to be cautious until the first hard overnight frost. It won't be until then that the risk is over.
