SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Springfield residents continue to voice their opinions on how the city should handle casino proposals.
The focus of Wednesday night's meeting was whether residents prefer a ward vote or a city wide vote and the biggest issues that should be included in a host agreement.
"This casino would be one of the biggest things to impact the city of Springfield we all have to vote and have a part of that," Springfield resident Tony Taylor told 22News.
Springfield City Councilor Bud Williams told 22News, "People are really engaged in a city wide vote people really want to be part of the process."
This was the last of a series of neighborhood meetings. The city council is expected to take up the voting issue on Monday. Councilor Williams says safety has been another top issue for residents.
